Эль Греко (El Greco (Доминикос Теотокопулос (1541-1614) — великолепный художник творчество которого опередило время, и было в забвении в течение последних трехсот лет. Объяснение этому критики находят в том, что творчество Эль Греко сильно отличалось от магистрального направления присущего для западноевропейской живописи XVI в. Только в XX веке творчество El Greco было понято и по заслугам оценено, и заняло своё подобающее место в истории искусства и художественной культуры.
